History

Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club began in the late 1960s when the developer of Scott Valley gifted 6½ acres of land to the neighborhood. Local residents became founding members, and the club opened its doors Sunday, November 12, 1972. Two years later the Club added the swimming pool, which was built to exacting specifications by two visionary lady members with swimming backgrounds. The six-lane pool has since been the envy of the county. Over the years the Club added more tennis courts to total six, with three courts lighted for play into the evening. The Club enjoys a mild climate year-round situated in a sun-belt area of Mill Valley, so in 1981 solar panels were added to help heat the swimming pool. In 1998 an expansion provided a spa ,wading pool, expanded fitness room, and larger locker rooms.

On the way toward building the Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club community, members lent their energies and professional experience to the betterment of the club. From volunteering time to serve on the Board of Directors, to providing expertise on landscape design or building a tennis backboard, the Club is a reflection of the will and dedication of its members.
