Meet & Greet with our new Aquatics Director & Head Swim Coach | January 11, 2019 | 6-8pm

The Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Gadi Shamah to the new position of Aquatics Director and Head Swim Coach. In this position, Gadi will take the responsibility to provide strategic planning, development, oversight and implementation for all current aquatic programs, including Swim Team, Masters Swim, Swim School, Swim Lessons, Recreational Swim, and for creating, implementing and managing new programs. While much emphasis has gone and will continue to go into building a strong Swim Team, the Club recognizes that we have a great opportunity to create new programs to better serve the needs of all members who use the pool.

Gadi is a highly qualified swimming coach with over eighteen years of experience, and he is rated in the top 15% of coaches nationally based on the American Swim Coaches Association rankings. A Marin County native, Gadi swam with the Marin Pirates, Marin Water Polo and at Terra Linda High School, and received a Bachelors of Arts from Dominican University in San Rafael. Gadi has spent the majority of his professional career coaching multiple levels, including Learn-to-Swim programs, Head Coaching Summer League programs, Head Coaching for Drake High School (4th place at NCS 2006), two years coaching U.S. National Qualifiers at Marin Pirates, interning with Australian National and Olympic Trials Qualifiers, Head Coach at the Presidio Aquatic Club, Head Coach of Piranha Swimming a year round USA Swim Team, and Director of Aquatics and Manager at Western Athletic Clubs of San Francisco.

Gadi has spent the past six years building the San Domenico Panthers swim team from the ground up into a USA sanctioned, year-round program of 80 swimmers dedicated to competitive and recreational swimming. Gadi is also known to some of our SV swimmers through his coaching at the Nike Swim Camp in Santa Cruz the past few summers.

Gadi lives in Kentfield with his wife, Sarah, and two sons. Both boys are avid swimmers. We are delighted to welcome Gadi and his family to the Scott Valley family. Gadi will commence work here in early January and be on the pool deck full time from February 1st.
