2010 Swim Season Starts March 1st

On-line registration for the 2010 swim season opens Saturday, January 30th. Registration materials will not be made available before January 30.Our Registration period will be open for 10 days closing on Wednesday, February 10th.
All forms received after February 10th will automatically be placed on our wait list.
The swim team is limited to 200 participants, with priority placement for SVSTC Club members. Upon reaching capacity, a wait-list will be created as openings occasionally occur in the first weeks of the season. Spots on our team are limited. Register only if you plan to participate fully in this activity. We will expect you at practices and all the meets.

The first day of practice is Monday, March 1st. Practice locations and times will be announced once the final contracts with our facilities have been signed.

Swimmer Registration Criteria:
Swimmers must be willing to demonstrate these skills in order to apply for membership to the Scott Valley Swim Team. If children are not ready, they may enroll in our swim school.
Swim School:
Our swim school will run Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Friday beginning May 3. The goal of the swim school is to teach the appropriate skills to get swimmers ready to join our team. Swim School participants will receive a swim team cap and will be invited to participate in one competition during the season. Swimmers that graduate through our swim school will be invited to join our team.
8-Unders:
Must be able to complete 25 yards (one length) of freestyle
Must be able to demonstrate comfortable side breathing
Must be able to complete 25 yards (one length) of one of the other competitive strokes (backstroke, breaststroke or butterfly)
9 and older:
Must be able to comfortably swim freestyle for 100 yards (4 lengths of the pool)
Must be competent in three of the four competitive strokes. Strokes must be legal per the USA Swimming Rules governing each stroke.
